Whare Māori
'Whare Māori' is a 13 part television series that explores the unique architectural history of Māori. It examines the social conditions that contributed to Māori architectural development, the personal stories that lie at the heart of every building and how traditional Māori design principles can be at the forefront of a uniquely Aotearoa architecture. It screened on Māori Television and was awarded 'Best Information Programme' at the 2011 Aotearoa Film & TV Awards.
Karen Mackenzie developed the project and was co-producer and a director. Rau Hoskins was architectural consultant and presenter. Whare Māori is now playing on the Air New Zealand Inflight Programme.
